PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die for die casting with which a die-machining time can be shortened by drastically reducing the machining amount of a pot, and also, material cost can be reduced by making a main die to thin thickness, the light weight of the die can be obtained and the machining precision of the die can be relaxed. SOLUTION: In the die 100 for die casting, composed of a fixed die 23 and a movable die 25, divided into two with die divided surfaces 21A, 21B and further, composed of the main dies 23A, 25A and cavities 23B, 25B fitted to recessed pocket parts 27, 29, respectively, arranged on the die divided surfaces 21A of these main dies 23A, 25A, in the fixed die 23 and the movable die 25, respectively, this die for die casting has the constitution, in which respective cavities 23B, 25B in the fixed die 23 and the movable die 25, are protruded from the die divided surfaces 21A, 21A of the main dies 23A, 25A and only both die divided surfaces 21B, 21B in the cavities 23B, 25B are closely attached at a die fastening time.
