<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical semiconductor device where focusing displacement can be set to a specified value, the degradation of jitter characteristic and bit error rate be prevented and an increase in part cost and assembly adjustment cost of an optical pickup device can be suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: A light receiving element 6 has an optical incident surface for photoelectric conversion. A refractive index variable part 7 is arranged on the light receiving part 6, and it is in contact with the optical incident surface of the light receiving element 6. Since the refractive index of the refractive index variable part 7 is made variable, the optical path length of the refractive index variable part 7 can be adjusted for a light entering the optical incident surface of the light receiving element 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
