<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for synthesizing dimethyl carbonate from urea and methanol. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst (weight percentage) is manufactured by isovolumetric spray permeation method of the composition of active component: 20 to 50 wt%, carrier: 80 to 50 wt% or the like. After urea is dissolved in methanol to prepare an urea-methanol solution, the urea-methanol solution and methanol are supplied to a reaction stage in counter-current, and the reaction is performed under the conditions of reaction temperature: 120 to 250°C, pressure: 0.1 to 5 MPa, tower bottom temperature: 70 to 210°C, concentration stage temperature: 70 to 250°C, rectification stage temperature: 70 to 280°C, and reflux ratio: 1 to 20: 1. The catalyst that is manufactured by the simple method, is well reproducible and increases the yield of dimethyl carbonate and the conversion ratio of urea in a catalyst rectification reactor is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
