<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion detector capable of accurately recognizing the motion of an object without letting sensitivity depend on the position of the object. <P>SOLUTION: This motion detector is provided with a projection device 11 for projecting a plurality of luminescent points in an object area, an image pickup device 12 for picking up the image of the object area where the plurality of luminescent points are projected, a measurement means 14 for measuring the motion of the object present in the object area on the basis of the movement of the plurality of luminescent points on the picked-up image and a correction means 24 for correcting a first distance between the main plane of the lens of the image pickup device 12 and the optional one of the plurality of luminescent points and a second distance between the intersection of a straight line passing through the luminescent point and the projection device 11 and a main plane and the image pickup device 12. The image pickup device 12 is installed such that an optical axis is inclined in the direction of the motion to be measured, and the correction means 24 corrects the change of the first and second distances caused by inclination on the basis of the position information on the picked-up luminescent points. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
