CONTROL DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a secondary failure caused by the heat of back-flow exhaust gas at failure of an AI system.

SOLUTION: ECU carries out a program including: a step (S102) for controlling the maximum opening of a throttle valve to TH (1) in the case of failure of a pressure sensor (YES in S100); a step (S202) for controlling the maximum opening to TH (2) in open locking failure of a solenoid ASV and at least either one of two negative pressure ASVs provided on the corresponding banks of a V engine (YES in S200); a step (S302) for controlling the maximum opening to TH (3) in open locking failure of both negative ASVs (YES in S300); a step (S402) for controlling to TH (4) in one of negative ASVs (YES in S400); and a step (S502) for reducing the throttle opening TH to limited maximum level.
