PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain good decoding performance while suppressing complexity of decoding in a receiver for receiving a signal using a plurality of antennas. SOLUTION: A transmission symbol is estimated from a received signal (step S4). Likelihood of an estimated transmission symbol is calculated (step S5, S6). Mean value and variance of the transmission symbol are calculated from information representative of likelihood, and MMSE coefficients for compensating a channel are calculated based on the mean value and variance (steps S1-S3).
