PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insert molding apparatus capable of positively setting an ultrathin shaft bar to a specified position. SOLUTION: The insert molding apparatus for imbedding one end of a metal shaft bar 110 in the holding part made of a synthetic resin, is provided with a first mold 20 having a cavity corresponding to the holding part, a second mold 30 holding the shaft bar with its base end side entered into the cavity, a foundation surface 51 provided at a fixed distance from the second mold, and a spacer 40 placed on the foundation surface to decide the tip end position of the shaft bar. Both the first mold and the second mold can be divided into several pieces. In entering the shaft bar 110 into the holding part 33 of the second mold 30, the separation distance 2s of the second mold is not larger than the diameter d of the held part of the shaft bar, and the separation distance W of the first mold is larger than the separation distance 2s of the second mold.
