PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing costs for a display panel having a metallic barrier rib and reduce the occurrence of nonconforming products. SOLUTION: An insulating film 10 for bonding is formed only on the bottom surface of the metallic barrier rib 3, and the metallic barrier rib 3 is positioned at a predetermined location on a back glass substrate 2 while the insulating film 10 formed on the bottom surface is brought into contact with the back glass substrate 2. A dielectric film 11 is laid over the metallic barrier rib 3 and the firing process is performed in this state. The metallic barrier rib 3 is thereby fixed onto the back glass substrate 2 by adhesion of the insulating film 10, and the metallic barrier rib 3 and the exposed surface of the back glass substrate 2 are coated with a dielectric film 11A formed from the dielectric film 11.
