PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive device which has a structure for making an electronic camera provided with a collapsible lens small in size and low in profile and is highly resistant tagainst impact caused by falling or the like, and to provide an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The lens drive device is provided with: a lens frame for storing a lens; a cammed member disposed on the outer circumference of the lens frame; a lens frame storage member disposed on the outer circumference of the lens frame so as to be almost concentric with the lens frame; a cam member disposed between the lens frame storage member and the lens frame; a first cam part on the imaging side and a second cam part on the subject side which are disposed in series on the cam member; a guide section for guiding the cammed member disposed in the lens frame storage member; and a pressing means for pressing the cammed member. The cammed member has, in the end on the subject side, a lead-in part for the cammed member which is continuous with the second cam part.
