PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device having smooth operation while preventing the leakage of oil resulting from the deflection of a cover. SOLUTION: The valve timing control device comprises a first rotor 3 to which a housing 11 having a bearing portion for a cam shaft 5, a case having a plurality of protruded shoes inside to form a hydraulic pressure chamber between the shoes, and the cover for blocking the hydraulic pressure chamber are integrally fixed and which is integrally rotated with a crank shaft, and a second rotor 7 having a plurality of vanes for parting the hydraulic pressure chamber into an advance hydraulic pressure chamber and a delay hydraulic pressure chamber and integrally fixed to an intake or exhaust cam shaft 5 so as to be relatively turnable by a preset angle in the first rotor. An energizing member storage groove opposed to the shoes of the first rotor 3 and the vanes of the second rotor 7 is formed in the opposite face to the housing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
