PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide driving apparatus for moving up and down a slide of a press machine by the driving force of an electric motor through a crank mechanism and a press machine equipped with the slide driving apparatus, which apparatus and machine prevent dispersion of the press load to a plurality of points on the slide as much as possible and further prevent unintended enlargement caused by the structure of a deceleration means. SOLUTION: The slide driving apparatus is provided with: one electric motor; a crank mechanism linked to one point on the slide; a driving shaft linked to the crank mechanism; and a wrapping transmission mechanism having deceleration function, which links the electric motor and the driving shaft.
