The invention relates to a method for producing a contoured gap between a rotor (12, 18) and a stator (19) of a turbo-engine (11, 17). According to said method, a first turbo-engine (11) drives a second turbo-engine (17) by means of a common shaft (13), said shaft (13) being mounted in a bearing housing (15) by means of a bearing (14). The aim of the invention is to enable the contoured gap to be created in a simple and reliable manner. To this end, the contoured gap is formed between a contoured surface (20) of the rotor (12) and a contoured surface (21) of an engine housing (19) associated with the rotor, by grinding the contoured surfaces (20, 21) against each other, using the axial play of the bearing (14).
