The method involves producing a full color picture during an allowable time period, and mixing of light of certain colors to form a full color picture by using one of three lighting units (R, G, B) for another preset time period. The lighting unit includes light emitting diode. The three same lighting units are used for production of mixed light. The former time period amounts to a maximum of 1/24 seconds. An independent claim is also included for an optical projection device.
