The anti-theft device prevents the vehicle being driven by an unauthorised driver, by disabling the engine and/or by providing an acoustic or optical warning signal, the device brought into operation after starting the vehicle engine under control of the vehicle owner, e.g. via a remote control, or in response to defined interia. Pref. the anti-theft device is controlled by an onboard computer. ADVANTAGE - Delayed response allows thief to be apprehended. |
