PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-panel type display device with which a difficulty of securing a reinforcing plate, potentially a new problem in a display device which is hereafter going to get upsized at an increasingly fast rate, is solved, and with which the strength of the joined panels in a vertical direction is sufficiently secured, and which sufficiently corresponds to future upsizing of the display device. SOLUTION: In the multi-panel type liquid crystal display device equipped with a multiple liquid crystal panel 10 constructed by joining four sheets of liquid crystal panels together, the multiple liquid crystal panel 10 is constructed by initially forming a liquid crystal panel unit 20a comprising liquid crystal panels 30, 30' adjacent to each other in the vertical direction, a front face side reinforcing plate 40a and a rear face side reinforcing plate 50a integrated together, also forming a liquid crystal panel unit 20b with the same construction as the unit 20a, and joining the liquid crystal panel units 20a, 20b to each other. By operating in this manner, it is no longer necessary to prepare the reinforcing plate with the same size as that of the multiple liquid crystal panel, and bonding of the liquid crystal panels to each other in the vertical direction is sufficiently secured.
