PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing device for a top-hinged swinging door, which improves workability by enabling sure hanging and connection in a short period of time even on a dim construction site. SOLUTION: In this opening and closing device for the top-hinged swinging door, base cups 7, which are attached to upper parts of the top-hinged swinging doors 5A-5D, are connected in a hanging manner to upper runners 6 which travel and are guided on an upper rail 2 of a door frame 1, so that an opening of the door frame 1 can be opened/closed. The base cup 7 is provided with a locking recess 7B into which a hanging shaft member 15 of the upper runner 6 can be fitted and locked from a lateral direction, and light-emitting parts 16A and 16B are provided in positions on the axial line C, on the fitted side of the shaft member 15, of the locking recess 7B.
