The vapour extraction hood for mounting close to a wall has an inflow element (10) which in the installed position of the hood has a section (10.1) further from the wall which is invariable in its position, and a section (10.2) closer to the wall and movable on the other section or on the rest of the housing of the extraction hood. Consequently, the movable section is movable between an operating position in which it reaches the wall surface (12) with a small gap, and a cleaning position in which it stands away from the wall surface in such a way that the wall surface area covered by this section in the operating position is accessible by a human hand.
