The insulator has a plastic coating comprising layers of epoxy resin and thermoplastic, especially polyethylene or polypropylene. A layer is provided between the coating and a steel tube, where the plastic coating is formed by application of a powder. The layer consists of particles, totally or partly, and which are carried mechanically. The particles are flung or scattered with a gas carrier against a post-insulation surface of a piping (200) which can be coated.
