There is provided a video edition device (100) for extracting a particular video from the entire video indicated by the video stream recorded on a recording medium and reproducing it. The video stream includes a first video indicating a main scene and a second video of a plurality of types for increasing the stage effect of the main scene. The recording medium contains time information indicating the recording position of the first video by the recording time as the first video identification information identifying the first video and condition information indicating the condition of the scene related to the main scene of the first video. The recording medium contains the time information indicating the recording position of the second video as the recording time and the information identifying the type of the second video are recorded as the second video identification information identifying the second video of each type. Furthermore, the recording medium contains a selection table indicating the correspondence between the condition information on the first video and the identification information on the type of the second video. The video edition device (100) includes: a partial digest generation unit (102) for acquiring the first video identification information from the recording medium, selecting identification information on the type of the second video correlated to the condition information on the acquired first video identification information from the selection table, and extracting from the recording medium the second video identification information corresponding to the type indicated by the selected identification information and having the recording time indicated by the time information corresponding to the recording time in the vicinity of the recording time indicated by the first video identification information; and an entire digest generation unit (104) for extracting the first video and the second video from the video stream and reproducing them according to the first video identification information and the extracted second video identification information.
