PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which a slide cover for covering an imaging lens in a non-photographing state does not perform closing operation by mere depression of the slide cover in the closing direction. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with: a restriction member for restricting movement of the slide cover from a second position to a first position; a cam member for moving the lock part of the restriction member into a state of restricting the movement or a state of not restricting the movement; a gear member for rotating the cam member; and a drive mechanism including an engagement section engaging with the gear member, the engagement section rotating the gear member due to movement of a slide cover part in a prescribed direction, when the slide cover part moves to a third position in a direction toward the second position and beyond the second position, the drive mechanism rotates the cam member together with the gear member, the lock part restricts a frame member to restrict the slide cover part in a direction toward the first position, when the slide cover part moves again to the third position beyond the second position, the drive mechanism moves the lock part to the state of not restricting the movement to stop restriction of the frame member, and permits the movement of the slide cover part in the direction toward the first position.
