PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing fiber prepreg having good handleability, by preventing the reinforcing fiber prepreg from floating up from a release film and further preventing defects caused by wrinkles and adhesion deficiency of the prepreg from occurring, when formed into a cylinder, etc., by FRP molding, and to provide a method for producing the reinforcing fiber prepreg. SOLUTION: This reinforcing fiber prepreg is produced by laying and arranging a sheet-like material containing water on a reinforcing fiber prepreg which is formed by impregnating a reinforcing fiber sheet with a matrix resin and then attaching a release film to at least one of its surfaces, so that the sheet-like material is laid and arranged to be adjacent to the release film.
