摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balance correcting device for secondary battery connected in series that miniaturizes each element by limiting a current flowing in an inductor to a predetermined value, that can correct balance in a short time efficiently, and that has good responsiveness to a sudden load change; and to provide a correcting method thereof. SOLUTION: In a first mode, a first closed circuit is formed to circulate a current with one end of the inductor L connected to the connection point of two batteries B1, B2 and its other end to the other end of the battery B1. In a second mode, a second closed circuit is formed to circulate the current by connecting the other end of the inductor L to the other end of the battery B2. The operation of the first and second modes are repeated alternately on a predetermined cycle for a proper period of time to perform balance-correcting operation of equalizing the voltages of the battery B1 and the battery B2. Currents that flow in switching elements S1, S2 are detected. If the detected values are overcurrents exceeding predetermined values, the operation of the signal generating circuit 10 is limited so that the overcurrents decrease. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
