PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a protective layer having excellent abrasion resistance and chemical resistance. SOLUTION: The method for forming the protective layer is carried out as follows. A substrate sheet is coated with a curable resin composition comprising a compound (A) having≥2 active methylene groups and/or active methine groups in total in one molecule, a compound (B) having an acryloyl or a methacryloyl group and a photopolymerization initiator (C) and then irradiated with energy rays to provide a resin layer in which the curable resin composition is converted into the B-stage. The resin layer of the resultant transfer material converted into the B-stage is bonded to a molded product and then heated to cure the resin layer converted into the B-stage.
