PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor by which a stripped coating film is prevented from burring on its end face when an end coating film of the electrophotographic photoreceptor having coating films containing a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate is stripped, and to provide a stripping liquid for the electrophotographic photoreceptor and the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a step of bringing a wiping tape impregnated with the stripping liquid into contact with the end surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor having the coating films containing the photosensitive layer on the conductive substrate so as to remove the coating film, wherein the stripping liquid comprises an organic solvent having≤200°C boiling point and capable of containing at least 10 mass% water as a main solvent, and the stripping liquid contains water by 0.5 to 10.0 mass%.
