PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual package for an absorbent article which is easily attached to clothes such as panties since the absorbent article is taken out in a relatively flat state, hardly gives uncomfortable feeling during the wearing, and shows excellent effects of preventing leakage. SOLUTION: In the individual package for an absorbent article 8, in which the absorbent article 8 equipped with a surface layer, a reverse surface layer, and an absorbent layer placed between both layers is individually folded and packaged, the absorbent layer 4 has a recessed part 8 formed in a linear shape on the surface located on the outside by folding, and the recessed part 8 and folding lines L1-L3 formed by folding cross substantially at right angles.
