<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where an appropriate copy free from image missing is taken out by an automatic paper selecting function even when the main scanning length and the subscanning width of the image of an original are nonstandard size. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus equipped with the automatic paper selecting function for performing copying by selecting roll paper having the optimum transfer paper width according to the size of the original is equipped with a means for detecting the main scanning width and the subscanning width of the original, and a means for cutting the roll paper so as to be fit to the subscanning width of the image of the original after performing automatic paper selection and copying by using the roll paper of size agreeing with the main scanning width of the original to the image of the original whose main scanning width is standard size and whose subscanning width is nonstandard size. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
