<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melody sound generating apparatus which generates melody sound consisting of two or more scales. <P>SOLUTION: A sequence control circuit 3 stores a control procedure for generating melody sound by a user's operating a numeric keypad 4. Then, when there is a call, a scale data generating circuit 1 generates a scale data of main melody sound and a scale data for composing chords according to an instruction from the sequence control circuit 3. Next, these scale data are sent to a melody sound creating circuit 2, and are summed to create a melody sound data.
