<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide line terminating equipment, a diagnostic system therefor, and a diagnostic method capable of executing diagnosis of diagnostic object line terminating equipment without influencing oppositely connected line terminating equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The diagnostic object line terminating equipment 2 for receiving a diagnostic start request from a diagnostic object higher-order apparatus 1 transmits the diagnostic start request to the opposed line terminating equipment 3 before the start of diagnosis. Then the opposed line terminating equipment 3 sets an opposed line diagnostic flag and interrupts transmission of a fault monitor result of a line interface 5 to an opposed higher-order apparatus 4. Thereafter the diagnosis of the diagnostic object line terminating equipment 2 is started. After the end of diagnosis, the diagnostic object line terminating equipment 2 transmits a diagnosis end notice request to the opposed line terminating equipment 3. Thus, the opposed line terminating equipment 3 releases the opposed line diagnostic flag and restarts the transmission of the fault monitor result of the line interface 5 to the opposed higher-order apparatus 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
