PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an insertion workability of a terminal fitting into a cavity. SOLUTION: A female terminal fitting 10 has a box-shaped main body part 11 equipped inside with a contact piece 17 contacting to a tab Mt of a counterpart male terminal fitting M, and a ceiling side locking part 21 and a bottom side locking part 22 are provided at a back end of the main body part 11. The ceiling side locking part 21 is formed by a trailing edge of a top board 16, and the bottom side locking part 22 is formed by a trailing edge of an extended part 25 which is bent in a floated condition from a bottom board 15 from a side board 23. Both of the locking parts 21, 22 are formed at symmetric positions pinching an ingress position of the tab Mt. The both locking parts 21, 22 are formed at symmetric positions with a progressing position of the tab Mt in between. As the female terminal fitting 10 is inserted into a cavity 32 of a male housing 30, a top and bottom direction is arbitrarily chosen. When the female terminal fitting 10 is inserted, a lance 35 is primarily locked at one side of either the ceiling side locking part 21 or the bottom side locking part 22, secondarily, a locking projection 47 of a retainer 45 pushed into the locking position is locked on the other side, and doubly prevented from fall-off.
