PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scattering of inside dust due to careless opening of a vacuum cleaner. SOLUTION: This dust collector is provided with; a dust box 40 which has a centrifugal separation chamber 45 centrifugally separating dust, and a coarse dust chamber 43 and a fine dust chamber catching the dust; a front cover 90 covering the front part of the dust box body 40; an upper cover 91 covering the upper part of the dust box body 40; a lid body 48 openably closing dust disposal opening parts 43b and 47b provided in the coarse dust chamber 43 and the fine dust chamber 47, a push lever 50 retaining the lid body 48 in a closed state, and a liftable dust box handle 20 for being taken out and carried. An operation part 51 opening the lid body 48 via the push lever (not shown) is provided in the dust box handle 20 and, when the dust collector 4 is taken out from the cleaner body 1, the dust box handle 20 is picked up and raised, so that a the operation part 51 is eliminated from being touched, thereby preventing the scattering of the dust due to opening of the lid body 48.
