PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide artificial leather having excellent physical properties while having a high level of flame retardance by using an environmentally friendly aqueous type impregnation substrate without using an organic solvent. SOLUTION: A method for producing the artificial leather is characterized as applying an aqueous treating liquid containing a phosphoric acid flame retardant and a surfactant to a fiber assembly composed of ultrafine fibers, drying the resultant fiber assembly, then applying an aqueous impregnating liquid containing a polymeric elastic body and the phosphoric acid flame retardant and subsequently carrying out a surface preparing treatment on one side. The surface preparing treatment comprises formation of a grain side composed of the polymeric elastic body and the phosphoric acid flame retardant. Furthermore, the phosphoric acid flame retardant is preferably an alicyclic phosphonic acid ester and the surfactant is preferably nonionic. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
