PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a transmission waiting time of an opposite party side facsimile machine. SOLUTION: A transmitting/receiving section 11 of a communication control unit 7 first receives a transmitting terminal identification signal from an opposite party side facsimile machine. A determination section 13 extracts an international telephone number from the transmitting terminal identification signal and determines whether or not the extracted number is matched to an internal telephone number stored in a number storage section 12. If matched, the transmitting/receiving section 11 then receives a target signal and if not matched, the transmitting/receiving section 11 ends the receiving operation without receiving the target signal. Thus, the transmission waiting time can be shortened. Furthermore, when the target signal is simultaneously received in communication control units 7 and 8, a line selection unit 9 gives, to an image output unit 5 for printing on recording paper, the target signal received by any one communication control unit on a side where the internal telephone number stored in the number storage section 12, 15 is matched with the international telephone number extracted from the transmitting terminal identification signal, before the target signal received by the other communication control unit.
