<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission capable of preventing a chain from being detached from an adjacent sprocket by an abrupt shift operation without setting the position of the chain with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The transmission has a derailleur to change the winding of a chain C between a plurality of transmission sprockets 41-47, and a case 20 to store the transmission sprockets 41-47 and the chain C. A projecting part 56 to regulate the axial movement of the chain C in the approaching direction to the case is provided in the case 20 at the overlapping position in side view with respect to a winding part C1 of the chain C to be engaged with an adjacent sprocket 41 adjacent to the case 20 in the axial direction among the transmission sprockets 41-47.
