PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant resin composition capable of obtaining flame retardance without containing halide causing generation of toxic substances, while keeping intrinsic properties of the resin high. SOLUTION: The flame retardant resin composition is obtained by compounding 0.1-200 pts. mass cyclophosphazene compound represented by formula (1) into 100 pts. mass one or both of thermosetting resin and thermoplastic resin (wherein, n=3-25; one of R1 and R2 is H and the other is CN, or the both of them are CN; and the ratio of cyanophenoxy of the compound is 2-98% based on the total of phenoxy and cyanophenoxy of the compound).
