PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for applying heat treatment of castings (13, 53) and removing a core (54) from the castings. SOLUTION: The castings (13, 53) are firstly positioned at indexed positions with these known x-coordinate, y-coordinate and z-coordinate. The castings (13, 53) are passed through a series of nozzle stations (41, 63) and a series of nozzles (42, 64, 64') are fitted to the present positions corresponding to the known aligning positions of the castings passing through the respective nozzle stations (41, 63). The nozzles (42, 64, 64') apply the heated fluid material to the castings (13, 53) for applying the heat treatment to the castings (13, 53) and for dislodging the sand core (54) from the castings (13, 53).
