PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing purified water by using a reverse osmosis membrane, by which a large quantity of purified water can be obtained directly without installing a purified water tank and then purified water or reduced water can be obtained selectively, and to provide a water purifier. SOLUTION: This method for producing purified water by the reverse osmosis membrane-used direct water purifier comprises: a pretreatment step of making original water pass through a DM filter and another filter for removing chlorine mainly; a filtration step of filtering the water of around 5 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>, which is supplied by a pump to be driven/controlled by a signal of a pressure switch, by a combination of an original first reverse osmosis membrane and an original second reverse osmosis membrane to obtain a large quantity of purified water; and a withdrawal step of withdrawing one of purified water and reduced water from a faucet by selecting one of an alkali-reductive filter-installed line and an alkali-reductive filter-uninstalled line by a solenoid valve and making the water obtained at the filtration step pass through the selected line.
