[PROBLEMS] To provide an objective household sanitary tissue exhibiting improved texture (softness), moisture-holding properties and the like, with a reduced amount of a medical fluid applied thereto, by the inhibition of the elongation of a sheet thereof, the reduction of the basis weight thereof and the decrease of the stiffness thereof. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A method for producing a household sanitary tissue wherein, in an interfolder, a raw paper prepared from a pulp fiber is wound by winding rolls (1, 2) with a prescribed width, and continuous sheets (10, 20) are rewound from the winding rolls respectively, and then folded and piled, characterized in that prior to the above folding and piling, a medical fluid is applied on the above sheets by roll transfer continuously by means of roll transfer devices (33, 34 and 43, 44) for applying the medical fluid on respective sheets.
