Catalyst arrangement comprises a housing (3) through which exhaust gas can pass; a solid material support (1) with a catalytic active material arranged in the housing; and a latent heat storage device for storing heat produced in the exhaust gas. Preferred Features: The solid material of the support undergoes a reversible chemical or physical reaction under the influence of heat while maintaining its aggregate state. The solid material is calcined lime and is coated with a catalytically active material. The support has a tubular structure with different tubes for exhaust gas and reaction medium.
