PURPOSE:To provide a fuel cell type power generation device having the capability of lowering a load working thereon without causing a remarkable drop in power generation efficiency, and generating corrosion or the like in a fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:Reforming gas feed tubes 5A and 5B, and air feed tubes 7A and 7B to each of fuel cells 1A and 1B, are respectively fitted with gas shut-off valves 10A and 10B, and air shut-off valves 11A and 11B for stopping the operation of a part of a plurality of fuel cells 1A and 1B during the operation of a device under a low load. For lowering a load on the device, the gas shut-off valve 10A and the air shut-off valve 11A for the fuel cell 1A as one component are closed, and the operation of the fuel cell 1A is thereby stopped. Consequently, the device can be operated at a low load without reducing so much a load on the fuel cell 1B, and fuel cell corrosion or the like under a low load can be prevented. Also, no use of a dummy load is required and, therefore, a remarkable drop in power generation efficiency can be prevented. |
