PURPOSE:To provide a pitch changer of waveform storing/reading type, with which the sound quality of reproduced sounds based upon the read waveform data can be improved. CONSTITUTION:In a RAM 92 the waveform data is written as a digital musical sound signal TS1' using a circuit 90, while the waveform data is iteratively read by a circuit 94 from the RAM 92. The pitch of the reproduced musical sound based upon the read waveform data is sunk or raised by performing such control that the read address is moved apart from or approached to the write address. If the value obtained by multiplying the address UA for one period of the written waveform with a positive integer is used as a maximum MX of the read address for each reading period, the read waveform of read period one by one continues smoothly, which should prevent deterioration of the waveform. When the waveform data is read by a circuit 100 in the opposite phase to the circuit 94 and subjected to cross-fade synthetization with the waveform data from the circuit 94, a positive even number multiple of UA is used as maxima MX. |
