PURPOSE:To provide a three-dimensional image pickup device capable of electrically image picking up a three-dimensional image which is visible from an optional viewpoint. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal light valve 10 capable of regarding a pixel as a pin hole is used as a pin hole array, and the transmission and the interruption of beams through respective pin holes PH are scanned successively in the horizontal direction. A range A of an optical image by one pin hole PH is sub scanned by a line senser 20 vertically, and the optical image is converted to an electric signal. In such a manner, the mixture of the beams passing through every pin hole PH is prevented by the pin hole scanning using the shutter function of the liquid crystal, and a high definition image is picked up by making the pin holes high density. Simultaneously, a view angle is enlarged, and the resolution for an angle is enhanced even when the optical image of the pin hole PH is converted to the electric signal by using the line senser 20, and the three-dimensional image using the pin hole array is image picked up electrically. |
