PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic elastomer excellent in elastic recovery, mechanical strength and moldability and processability by dynamically subjecting an olefinic resin and crosslinkable rubber to heat treatment in the presence of a halogenated polyolefin and a phenol resin-based crosslinking agent. SOLUTION: A polymer component comprising (A) 10-90 wt.% olefinic resin (e.g. high density polyethylene) and (B) 90-10 wt.% crosslinkable rubber (e.g. isobutylene-isoprene rubber) is dynamically subjected to heat treatment in the presence of (C) a halogenated polyolefin (e.g. obtained by adding a halogen to a 2-8C olefin such as ethylene or propylene) in an amount of 0.01-10 pts.wt. and (D) a phenol resin based crosslinking agent represented by the formula [(m) is 0-10; Y is OH; R is a 1-15C saturated hydrocarbon group] in an amount of 0.1-15 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. total amount of the components A and B and further preferably (E) a hydrogenated diene based polymer and (F) a propylene-based low-crystalline polymer. |
