<p>The present invention is directed to a powered actuation mechanism (14) for a reclining chair (10). The powered drive mechanism (104) rotates a drive member (104) which engages a follower member (64) to extend the leg rest assembly (26). A biasing mechanism (36) is coupled to the leg rest assembly (26) to retract the leg rest assembly (26). In this manner, the leg rest assembly (26) may not be fully retracted when an obstruction with the leg rest assembly is encountered.</p> |
