Spherical inorganic absorption pigments

Spherical absorption pigments (I) containing (A) a component based on spherical particles with a particle size (d) of 1-100 nm and (B) a component based on spherical particles with d = 0.5-50 microns, both types being coated with colored layer(s) and an outer layer of silicon dioxide. An Independent claim is also included for a method for the production of (I) by mixing together suspensions of the spherical base substrates of components (A) and (B) and then coating the particles by wet chemical methods, i.e. by hydrolysis of metal salts in aqueous and/or organic solution and/or by CVD and/or PVD methods, or by reduction from aqueous solutions of metal salts.
