In this circuit arrangement, in which video signals which in each case correspond to a part-area of the frame, are combined into blocks and are coded block by block and in which furthermore a number of function units are provided, some of which form a DPCM loop, in each case one of the function units processes one block. Clock pulse sequences are formed, the number of pulses of in each case one clock pulse sequence corresponding to the number of blocks per frame. The individual function units are supplied with clock pulse sequences which are in each case offset in time by the duration of one period of the pulses.
