The invention concerns a device (10) for welding and/or treating workpieces by means of laser light in water (11), the device comprising a laser outlet arrangement (12) (laser head) to be positioned for the welding operation in front of the welding site in the water (11). The laser outlet arrangement (11) is delimited by a substantially disc-shaped nozzle arrangement (13) which can be connected to the laser outlet arrangement (11). The nozzle arrangement (13) comprises a peripheral resilient seal (15) to be urged against a workpiece (16) and a plurality of apertures (17) for releasing gas (18) into a space (19) between the nozzle arrangement (13) and the workpiece (16).
