The device has a grip (10) movable between an open position for releasing a parking brake and a closed position for application of the brake, by pivoting around an articulation axis (2). A lock (15) has a pin movable between a lower position for locking the grip in the open/closed position and an upper position for unlocking the grip. The pin avoids the movement of the grip from the open position to the closed position and vice-versa. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle such as quad, comprising a device for actuating a parking brake.
