[Also in Division B8] Lined cartons having tear tapes are formed by applying the tape to a cardboard web before the carton blanks are cut from it and laminating or extruding the lining on to the web above the tape, thus securing it in position. The blank may have weakened lines 11 adjacent the tape end to form a tab 10 for gripping the tape. The tape may be applied along the grain of the cardboard. The lining may be a plastics film, paper web or wax coating. |
