PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer for a multiple disc clutch enabling press working to reduce a rate of improper forming by reducing ironing resistance as much as possible. SOLUTION: In this outer for the multiple disc clutch formed by press working of a steel plate 01 and composed of an end wall part 2 and a cylindrical part 3 whose one end is continuous with an outer peripheral end of the end wall part 2 and whose other end is opened, a bottom face 11a of an outer side channel 11 on an outer peripheral face of the cylindrical part 3 is formed into a slope inclined so as to leave an axis 9 of the cylindrical part 3 as approaching an open end of the cylindrical part 3, and a circular arc face 11b formed in an inner corner part of the outer side channel 11 is formed so as to increase its radius of curvature toward the open end of the cylindrical part 3.
