摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel carbon based gas occulusion material with light weight, expected to have gas occulusion/releasing ability, and a production method therefor. SOLUTION: The gas occulusion material is produced, which has a group of support structures comprising a cone-like or a cylindrical projection approximately vertically formed on the surface of a substrate by a step for coating an original board formed with a group of cylindrical or cone-like pits on a surface with a flowing polymer material; a step for hardening the polymer material, peeling off it from the original board and producing a polymer sheet formed with the group of cylindrical or cone-like projections on the surface; a step for forming a metal coating on an area including a group of the projections of the polymer sheet; and a step for growing a group of carbon fibers approximately vertically and radially relatively to an axis of the group of projections by a chemical vapor phase growth method using the metal coating as a catalyst, and a group of carbon fibers formed on the surface of the group of support structures.
